This dataset contains the fully coded open-ended survey question on affective polarization, which was originally administered as part of a larger panel survey during the 2024 Belgian election cycle (Eck et al., 2025). To achieve its full capacity, this dataset should therefore be merged with the original full survey data: https://doi.org/10.34934/DVN/KYWPSO The open-ended survey question asked respondents to indicate in their own words which groups in society they 'like' and 'dislike'. This dataset is the result of a long and thorough process of coding the respondents' answers (see Data Release Note). This dataset is only accessible for scientific purpose and upon request. If you wish to use this data, please contact the corresponding author with an explanation of your research objective.
