The data are based on the edition of the matriculation registers by Reusens, Wils and Schillings (1903-1980) and were checked against the original registers where necessary. (2023-08-22)The originals of the matriculation registers are kept in the State Archives of Leuven (Belgium): Archief van de Oude Universiteit Leuven, no. 22-29.The finding aid of the archives of the Old University of Leuven can be consulted in the online search environment of the Belgian State Archives: https://agatha.arch.be/data/ead/BE-A0518_104297_104557_DUT. After creating an account on this website, scans of the original matriculation registers can be viewed.The basic data from the database (name, first name, origin, diocese and enrollment date) were entered by Suzanne Jannis. These data were uploaded to SODHA as version 1.0 in 2020 after a round of corrections led by Marc Carnier. Under the guidance of Valerie Vrancken, David Fondu conducted another round of corrections in 2022 and 2023. He also enriched the database with additional categories of data based on the edition (information about enrollment fees, the age of those enrolled, their field of study and the pedagogies or schools to which they were affiliated). For each record, a volume and folio number was added as well. Lydia Janssen took care of processing the corrections and additional data, data-cleaning and fixing corrupted data and structural errors in the database. She also added ID numbers and UUID numbers to the records.
