It includes the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents (age, gender, occupation, income, political preferences and type of urbanisation). In addition, questions concerning science, scientists, European and national science policy, its applications and costs were also asked.<br> Eurobarometers are a series of public opinion surveys conducted regularly on behalf of the European Commission and other EU institutions since 1973.
