This subrepository contains datasets extracted from the Belgian Archives for Social Sciences (BASS), the former Belgian data archive dedicated to social sciences, which was hosted at the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain).

The Belgian Archives for Social Sciences were maintained from 1972 to 1998. They were eventually discontinued for lack of funding.

Now, thanks to the work of Jean-Paul Sanderson of the Center for Demographic Research (DEMO) several of the original datasets are open for access and reuse. The various Eurobarometers are of particular note for research in the Belgian context: by means of data extraction, each dataset features an additional data file that gives direct access to the Belgian data.
